You could spend a lot of time on maintaining your home to keep it in perfect shape, but sometimes problems just come up and things break down. Your chimney could be crumbling or the railings on your deck have become loose because of the passage of time. In other instances, the coils underneath your fridge have gotten dirty because of the accumulating hair from your many pets. Or your sliding door keeps getting stuck for no apparent reason at all! Whatever issue you’re facing, these should be addressed early on before matters get worse. This applies to foundation problems as well.
If your foundation is showing signs of damage or if it is starting to fail, it should be repaired sooner rather than later. These issues create a ripple effect, from flooding your basement to decreasing the value of your home. Plus, foundation problems that are taken for granted eventually become even more expensive to fix. Below is how one homeowner acted right away when they discovered they were facing possible foundation failure.
Installing the PT3 System to Address Foundation Failure in Frisco TX
A homeowner in Frisco had noticed a large sheetrock crack in their master bedroom. They hired an engineer because they saw similar damage in other areas inside and outside their home.
The engineer was able to determine that the trees located in the area at the front of their house were the most likely cause of their failing foundation. This is a common concern in Texas, with trees usually being identified as the main culprit behind it.
Removing the trees would remove the cause of the problem, but that would not address the foundation deficiencies that were already present. Their foundation needed to be stabilized, and our PT3 system was the best solution!
We installed seven of the PT3 piers around the front left corner of their house. This will support the house and stabilize their foundation.
With a combination of strong steel material and nifty engineer tricks, our team was able to push the piers down into the restrictive layer of soil beneath the house. In fact, the steel piers were able to achieve a depth of 33 feet below the surface! Compare this to the average concrete pier in the area that can only get up to about 12 feet deep.
This project took merely one day for our team to complete. Just in time for our client to enjoy their holidays worry-free!
