Whether you’re trying to sell your property or you just want to maintain a beautiful home, it’s important to keep your house in tip-top shape. Unfortunately, damage to your home’s exterior negatively affects its overall appearance AND value.
You can’t exactly get the best first impression from buyers or visitors when your bricks or sheetrock are cracked! Any visible damage will make you, your family, and other people feel as if your house is unappealing and unsafe. In fact, these cracks might be signs of bigger problems in your house’s structure that put you at risk!
If you want to identify and resolve any possible issues, your best option would be to call an experienced contractor. Reliable foundation experts will be able to find the exact location of the problem and provide the best solution within your budget. This way, you won’t have to worry about the situation worsening and costing more to repair in the future.
This week’s featured project is an excellent example of how quality foundation repair services can help homeowners feel safe in homes that look great.
Effective Foundation Repair in McKinney
The bricks, trim, and sheetrock in this McKinney home were showing signs of damage. Plus, their doors had begun to misalign relatively quickly. Our client had experienced small issues ever since they moved in many years back. Unfortunately, not addressing these seemingly insignificant issues had caused them to drastically worsen. It had gotten to a point that they couldn’t even open or close their doors.
And of course, our team at PermaTech Foundation Repair came to the rescue! The first things we did were to catalog all the damage, take elevation measurements using a state-of-the-art elevation machine, as well as lookup historical data on the house and location weather. We then diagnosed the reasons why these problems were happening.
After a thorough inspection, we were able to determine the exact area of the house that needed repairs. It turns out our client had received a quote from another company that told him he needed interior piers. This would have meant messy work and new floors inside the house, so the homeowner was glad they had contacted us. Our thorough inspection convinced him we were correct in saying he didn’t need the interior piers.
To solve our client’s problems, we installed our very cost-effective PT2 System, which is a rebar reinforced concrete pressed piling. The concrete we use for these piers has a strength rating of about 3 times the strength of concrete commonly used for the foundation of homes.
Our team excavated holes in the affected areas around the perimeter of the foundation. After digging the holes, we installed the piers to the refusal using a powerful hydraulic ram. This ram can push the pilings into the ground with a consistent force of up to 10,000 PSI, assuring the piers are installed to the restrictive strata layer that can securely support our client’s house above it.
Once we had finished installing the piers, we were able to lift the house back into its original place. Doing so closed all the cracks and separations, as well as realigned their doors. With the project completed, we cleaned up our mess and patched any concrete holes we made.
Everything above sounds like quite a time-consuming process, but it took our full-sized crew only two days to complete, as promised to our client!
Despite finishing the job quickly, the quality was not compromised. Just look at the results below.
