Our McKinney client started to notice a few sheetrock cracks near the front of their home. At first glance, one would think that the cause of these cracks would be the usual wear-and-tear that comes with the passage of time. But as we like to say, it’s better to be safe than sorry! The moment our customer contacted us to check their foundation, we discovered that they were dealing with more than sheetrock cracks. There was a pattern of elevations that suggested the front right corner of the house’s foundation was beginning to lose its hold.
After taking note of these issues, we evaluated the area to determine the cause of the problem. The corner where the foundation was failing was close to a tree. We deduced that this side of the house used the most fill dirt prior to installing the foundation. There were also two large bushes and small trees right next to the said corner. On top of all that, having no gutters resulted in major soil erosion issues.
With all these factors put into consideration, the best course of action would be to resolve the issue right away. Otherwise, it will just become a catalyst that would lead to more serious problems that would affect our customer’s safety, comfort and budget.
