That’s the reality for this small community church in McKinney. Cracks started to appear on the exterior walls of the church, so the pastor hired a structural engineer to evaluate the situation and give long-term solutions. Then, they called us to implement them accordingly.

Apparently, the most prominent cracks were showing up in 2 opposite corners of the building. We had to install 19 steel piers.
As the problem could possibly affect several people in the community, the pressure to resolve it is heavier for the pastor. They wanted a more permanent solution, so that they wouldn’t have to deal with this problem again in the future; hence they chose to go with steel piers.
The engineer also determined that the problem with the settling foundation was creeping deeper into the building and affecting the secondary interior grade beams. Eventually, it was deemed necessary for us to install piers in the interior as well.
It was a couple days’ work and slight inconvenience, but it was absolutely worth it for the better structural integrity of the church and ensured safety of the people in the community.
