“Prevention is better than cure.”
We’ve all heard this before… It’s usually used in the context of health and lifestyle, but in the case of our recent project in Plano, it’s also applicable for home foundation maintenance.
Depending on your home’s layout, there are certain things that may affect your home foundation and the structure itself. Having worked on multiple homes, trees are quite a common cause why foundations fail. Roots that are near your foundation can suck up too much moisture and end up causing foundation damage.
But there’s preventive solutions available, so you don’t have to deal with the damage. Our client in Plano wanted us to install some root barriers to protect their home and backyard gazebo.
Installing Root Barriers in Plano
We installed 8 root barriers with 126 feet in total.
The homeowner had quite a few trees in their backyard and without root barriers, the trees’ roots could possibly suck moisture from the nearest clay. This would then result in the clay shrinking and make the house unstable.
As we worked, we made sure to cover the grassy areas from the dirt we dug for the root barriers, and returned everything as if we weren’t there.
Now our client can rest knowing they have their home protected from any damage without cutting off the trees.
