Homeowners and inhabitants who live in a safe and stable home get to enjoy tranquility of mind. They can be at their heart’s ease while they relax, or even focus on their everyday chores without having to worry about things like their house falling apart. But what if something is affecting the structural integrity of your home, making it unsafe and unstable?
Your house will not last without a sturdy foundation. In fact, a foundation that is showing signs of failure can be very destructive considering how it is supposed to be carrying the weight of your entire home. Think of it like the Titan Atlas in Greek mythology, who bears the weight of the heavens on his shoulders. If he had a weakness or got injured, everything would come toppling down! That’s exactly what would happen to your home if your foundation is not strong or gets damaged.
In this week’s featured project, we got to work with a client who understood how important structural integrity in a home is. Let’s see what happened.
Installation of PT2 Piers for Foundation Repair in McKinney Tx
A McKinney homeowner called us when he started to notice how the expansion joints on their home were starting to open up. He was well aware that this was a sign of a potential foundation problem. Knowing how dangerous that could be, he wanted to jump it and resolve it as soon as possible before anything worse than expansion joint separations could happen.
He definitely made the right decision. Had he ignored the problem, he would have had to deal with issues like uneven flooring, crooked windows, broken tiles and wall cracks. The worst case scenario would have been that their house would become unsafe to inhabit!
We arrived and inspected their home. The most likely cause behind the issues would be the large trees around the front of their house. To address these problems, we would need to lift their home up with piers.
Our team went with the best solution, which was our PT2 system. We installed 15 piers, which took us two days to complete. It would have taken less time to finish, but the unexpected rain delayed us.
Still, our work did not cause a mess because we took the initiative to cover the dirt, allowing us to finish everything on the second day with no problems at all.
During the project, the homeowner asked us if we could take extra care when we were removing the bushes. After removing the bushes so we could install the piers, we wrapped the root balls so they would have a higher survival rate when he gets them replanted after the project.
He was so pleased with our work, that he had this to say!
I have nothing but great things to say. If I could give Steve and his crew 10 stars, I would have. Honest, competent, fair and responsive. Just recommended him to a friend, and realized I hadn’t written a review. Great company.
