Taking Care of a Huge Drywall Crack in McKinney
Our client’s main issue was a huge crack under their kitchen window’s drywall that kept growing bigger over time, enough to cause concern. They had the foundation on the other side of their house repaired at one point and didn’t want the situation to get out of hand. Thus, they called the contractor who handled that job.
Surprisingly, the company inspector informed them that he had never seen a crack like that before, and it was probably not related to their foundation. Unsatisfied with the response they received, our client decided to get a different company to check the crack out—US!
As we checked the possible cause of the issue our client was having, we discovered that the problem was hidden in some very odd deflection measurements. Fortunately for us, our years of expertise and experience with different cracks and foundation issues made this an easy job.
The best solution was our state-of-the-art cost-effective PT2 System. Consisting of rebar reinforced with concrete pressed piling, we installed 7 piers of the PT2 into the affected area to fortify the cracked wall.
Since the job required a concrete breakout on the house’s back porch to install the piers, we took extra precautions in making it look as good as a concrete patch could by square cutting the breakout.
We also made sure that nothing happened to our client’s other fixtures during the project. In this case, it was their sprinkler system. Our team took extra consideration of the sprinkler system by testing it out first before doing any digging. After the project was done, we tested the sprinkler system once more to make sure nothing was affected.
This project only took our team roughly 4 hours, working from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. With the closed and their foundation reinforced with seamless foundation repair, we once again completed a project for a very satisfied customer.
