A house is only a building without an owner or a family that makes it a home and adds value to it. Any homeowner would want to continue beautifying and leveling up their home through home improvement projects. That includes anything from remodeling parts of the interior to repairing the foundation or other parts of the house that are not the most visible.
It’s not the first time we’ve encountered homeowners who, in the process of planning a remodeling project, discovered they needed foundation work that’s necessary so that the remodel wouldn’t be a waste.
The homeowners of a McKinney house noticed cracks around the front left corner. They called us for a professional inspection, and upon closer look, we found out that the front left corner is beginning to settle. We suspect that the trees close to this corner on the front yard could be causing the clay underneath to lose moisture and contract significantly.

To make sure the homeowners wouldn’t have any problems in the future especially after they remodel, we installed 6 concrete pressed pilings from our PT2 system.

Concrete pressed pilings are locked into place using a steel rebar, which ensures they don’t get displaced. With these kinds of piers, we’re also able to penetrate them deeper into the ground. That and the soft Texan soil works together so that the pier can be more durable and effective in stabilizing the home.

While we were at it, we also planned to clean out the existing drain that runs on the left side of the house. However, we eventually discovered that the discharge pipe near the street was crushed and abandoned while the remaining pipe was filled with mud.
A drain cleaning would just be a waste of money and we recommended they consider a new drain if water problems get too bad.
